I have always been a water person. Even landlocked, footage of the ocean, especially if it included the sound of the surf, was like a siren's call to me. Now that I live near it, I feel that I'm never visiting enough. I've been to the shore a few times this summer, but this was actually Clint and I's first honest day trip to the beach this summer.
The beach in question is Zuma Beach, which is the host of Point Dume, my personal favorite beach so far. Beautiful, not too crowded and rich in a variety of environments, for swimming, climbing or exploring it is ideal. The crowds aren't too thick but aren't too thin, either, and tend to favor people who genuinely seem to appreciate the ocean.
